Embracing Digital Citizenship: Immanuel Kant Liceo's visit to Lycée Saint Paul
Recently, a unique collaboration unfolded between the Italian school Liceo classico e linguistico I. Kant and Lycée Saint Paul in Lyon, France, as part of the Erasmus+ KA220 project focusing on digital citizenship, together with Schools from North Macedonia and Norway. The program, designed to foster responsible digital behavior among students focusing on ethical discussions in the digital age.
During this visit, students participated in a dynamic workshop centered on "Digital Sobriety," a concept aimed at encouraging participants to engage with technology mindfully. The workshop featured several interactive components:
- Game Design: Students collaborated to create engaging games that promote digital citizenship principles. The focus was on designing experiences that encourage critical thinking and responsible online behavior.
- Game Board and Rules: Teams crafted innovative game boards complete with rules that highlighted the importance of digital ethics. These games served not only as educational tools but also as a fun way to engage with the subject matter.
- Cards Created on Canva: Utilizing Canva, students designed cards that included scenarios and dilemmas related to digital citizenship. These cards sparked discussions about the implications of our online actions and the importance of making informed choices.
As part of the cultural exchange, the participants also visited the “Ring of Remembrance”. This poignant monument honors the memory of those who perished during World War I and serves as a reminder of the importance of peace and reflection. The circular design symbolizes unity and remembrance, creating a space for contemplation. This visit provided a profound backdrop for discussions about the ethical responsibilities we carry in both our digital and real-world interactions.
This partnership shows how educational initiatives like interactive workshops and meaningful cultural experiences, students are encouraged to think critically about their role in the digital world, ensuring that they navigate it with responsibility and integrity.
